Poker is a card game where the twin elements of luck and skill are required to win. As you learn to read other players, you should also pay attention to their “tells.” These are not only nervous habits like fidgeting with their chips or wearing a ring, but they can include how quickly they act when they have a strong hand or a weak one.
Once you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to start learning how to play better hands. A great place to begin is by working on your preflop skills, such as cbetting. This is the first area of the game where beginners can truly set themselves apart from their opponents and maximize their chances of winning.
